We have been told that his grandmother was born on a reservation in the northwest, her maiden name was either Louise Richert, or Louise Richart, she was born June 16, 1912. I have her social security number if that should help. Again I would appreciate any help. Thank You. | |||

| I just happened onto your page. Nice one! I am searching for my husband - Allen Callahan b. 1919 ancestors. His gr. grandfather Daniel Callahan b. 1818 Va. according to census. Married Mary Queen 1837 in Marion or Morrow Co. Ohio. Had several children. Mary died about 1864, Daniel re-married to Hannah Baker Queen and was married to her for 52 years. She died in 1911, Marion Co. Ohio. but haven't been able to find an obit - or notice of Daniel's death. He was in the 1900 Census of Morrow Co. Ohio. There was a Thomas and a Cornelius who lived near Daniel and family in the 1840 census so I am wondering if there is a relationship there. Any info would be appreciated. | |||

| I was adopted at 6 wks old and in the last 10 years have found my natural family (maternal surname: McQueen). My grandfather, Dan McQueen of Spokane, was born to Esther Wood(s)in Kamiah, on the Nez Perce reservation; approximately between the years of 1900 and 1925. His brother, Brian McQueen was also born in Kamiah a year or so later. I have been unable to successfully get any more information from him regarding my Nez Perce roots and want more than anything to know as much as possible. My Native American heritage is rooted deep inside of me and has been since I was a child - 20 years before I was consciously aware of being Indian! Please let me know if you can help me; I have been trying to get information for a long time and keep reaching dead-ends. Thank you in advance for your assistance. | Well organized site. My fahter's sister, Judy Frisbee of Jackson, GA has done very extensive research on THE CALLIHAN's. Our family lineage (as I recall) began in America when a young Irish immigrant named John Callihan came over around 1850. He settled in the "Blue Ridge" area of north Georgia, was a SGT. in the 11th Infantry and an escort for General Lee of the confederacy. He married a Cherokee woman and had five or six children - three sons. There are more "Callihans" per capita in Blue Ridge than "Goldbergs" per capita in NYC! | |||
